Foreign Streets Research

One of the major problems in the UK at the moment is knife crime. According to an article by the Independent (See below), there are 14,000 knife crimes a year in Britain. I heard on "Police Interceptors" on channel Five the other day that said there is a knife crime committed every 24 minutes in Britain. I want to make a film that represents the zeitgeist of my generation and these facts inspired me to include this theme. This theme will be conveyed through Paul, the "bad boy" main character.

Another major issue in the UK at the moment is the credit crunch and the influx of foreign workers. The results of a questionaire conducted by the BBC showed that out of 135 Polish participants, only 8 regretted coming to Britain (See below). In my film, I want to show the contrast of these two cultures. This theme will be expressed through the other main character, Joseph.
