Design Boards (23.2.09)

In order to get a better idea of how I want my film to look, I researched and found some images which represent the style I want to achieve:

Wardrobe

This is an example of the type of wardrobe I envision for Joseph. The style is plain and casual and the collared shirt and brown trousers show the good and innocent nature of Joseph's character.

For Paul, I want a "bad boy" look to show highlight the urban context of the film and also to create a bigger contrast between him and Joseph. Also, the black hoody and trackies are typical attire of inner city youth in the UK and is thus more realistic.

Location

This is an example of the type of locations I want to use. The run down look of the house and also the graffiti highlight the urban theme in the film and accentuates the struggle of the characters.

Set

For the set, I want to be minimalistic and not have too much in the rooms, particularly for Joseph. For Paul I want the minimalism as well, but also to have some posters or something that would be typical of a "bad boy". I want to do this to show that neither character has much in their life and that they are lonely.

Props

Here are some of the props I will be using in the production. Again, I wanted to be minimalistic and not have to many material things that each character possesses.
